Description
There is nothing more Ranger-esque than giving large sums of money to players that will flash in the pan, or just burn their hands.

The youth movement is in full swing....stilll, and I am in the camp to get ahead of a bad situation before it forces your charred burned hand.

Of the pending players that are either due new contracts, or soon to be due for new contracts, im thinking the following are ranked in how i see their importance on this team/future:

1) Kaapo - How could anyone hate this man
2) Schneider - does one thing, but does it well, defend.
3)Laff - odds of trading your 1st overall after his ELC is crazy. I point to the like of Tage Thompson, if you sign Laff long and low, you are literally a king.
4) Miller - Huge offensive capabilty, hugh defensive liablility. Watch highlight coverage of a NYR regular season game. hes on the ice when the rangers get scored on 9 times out of 10. Yes he has a long reach that saves breakaways.... but why it he giving up so many breakaways. Sure, maybe its Trouba, but Trouba and his Tuba are difficult to move with that cap hit.

With this, before the rangers are forced to trade away more than one youth's in the youth movement, i wager that trading Miller will be a tough pill to swallow at first, but with the likes of Zach Jones still gunning for a spot, its tolerable. Plus what is given in return will ease the pain.

P.S. i threw in a goodrow trade for... idk, cap purposes.

P.P.S will be an on going "series" until i have figured out the best path (depending on how scorched I am by members of the ACGM community.)

If Miller is such a liability on defense, I doubt Seattle will be willing to give up Wright for him. If they are going to make a defensive upgrade, I think they'll target a more complete and reliable player, and at a price tag that doesn't involve Wright. Otherwise, they're probably looking at a veteran stopgap until Ryker Evans is ready for a full-time spot on the blue line.

Canucks won’t be paying assets to take on Goodrow’s contract

You're dreaming if you think Miller is worth that. LAF gets offer sheeted if he's offered 2.5m. No one want Goodrow, and he's not waiving to poor teams.
