Andrew Peeke

Once Jiricek is ready, there is going to have to be movement on the right side. Gudbranson’s buy-out isn’t bad, but I don’t see CBJ caving to that just yet.

I still see Boqvist as the more likely guy to move, but I’d say Peeke’s value is a late 1st. He’s important to the team, so he’s likely not shipped away for cheap. Plus, he’s signed for term and is very affordable for a guy who can play B4.

CBJ need LD. I could see something like Kulak, a 2nd and a mid-rounder for Peeke.

I'm not high on Peeke, so I think his value is mid-2nd round pick? He's a young, cheap, cost-controlled, minute-munching, shot-blocking, physical RD though, which nearly every team wants...so it's more about who's willing to overpay the most. On the market, he might fetch a late 1st or 2nd + prospect/veteran positional need (C, LD).

Honestly, though, I see him as a Gudbranson-type player, who's perpetually overrated because "physicality". CBJ already have a Gudbranson at home so I hope it's Peeke that gets moved to clear the RD logjam. As a CBJ fan, I'd send him off for a 3rd just to keep the other RD around instead, if that's what it took.

Thank you for your comment. I can see Peeke costing a lot, because in my opinion, he is very good. I would love to have him as a replacement over Ceci, and I would absolutely do your proposed trade. I like Kulak, but we need a guy who can play well defensively with Nurse more than a guy that will play bottom pair for us. I had them keeping Boqvist to run the PP, but, I agree one of Peeke, or Boqvist would be the ones to go if Jiricek came over. It will be interesting to see if one of them are still going to get moved even if Jiricek doesn’t come over.

Interesting, thanks for your comment! Definitely different than the other one, but I respect it. If all Columbus wanted is a second, or a third, I would do that in a heartbeat honestly. I’m just trying to find a better player to play with Nurse, as in my opinion, Ceci is good, but not the type of guy we need with Nurse. Peeke is the type of guy the oilers need, and I wonder if Columbus would want Kulak as he is a LHD, and had a very good playoff run.

Columbus would definitely take Kulak, I've seen quite a few trades on here where he goes for anything from a 3rd to FC. Maybe Peeke for Kulak and a 3rd? 4th?
