These Guentzel trades are dumb

I would agree. Sign him long-term then trade him in 3 years.

Rust can't go, he has a full NMC and his contract is tough to move on top of that. What team would take him? I would move Rust before Guentzel if we could, but I don't think we could. And Guentzel is the only player that would bring back tons of value. Pretty much is our only meaningful trade chip, which has to be a consideration for a team that desperately needs shaken up. Not saying they'll do it, they probably won't, but with him becoming a UFA next year I think it would be unwise to completely rule it out. See what the market is and only trade him if we get a monster offer.

Dubas even mentioned in his press conference something about having Jake with Sid and liking the top 6 or 5 forwards. I would be suprised if Rust, Rakell or Guenztel get traded.
