Description
-- Jarry walks as the pens aren't confortable in giving him the term he wants with his hip issue and injury history.
Zucker also walks as he wants one last big payday.

-- Kampf is a good 3rd/4th line center, Good on in the circle, good penalty killer and can chip in on offense.

-- Monahan is a low risk, high reward type signing, When healthy, he showed in MTL that he can still produce however staying healthy is an issue. He comes with a 1 year deal, so if he doesn't work out, it's a contract that can easily be included in a trade for his replacement.

-- Raanta is a solid vet Goalie who can easily start if injuries happen. something Desmith struggled with last season

-- Stanley is a big DFD who has yet to reach his potential, hoping a change of scenary can help that.

Trades
1.
PIT
  1. Campbell, Jack
  2. Foegele, Warren
Additional Details:
It's also no secret that Jack Cambell did not work out in EDM last season and is now seen as the backup to Stuart Skinner which is less than ideal with Cambell having 4 years left at 5mil. With the Penguins now needing a starting goaltender and not wanting to pay a premium for the likes of Gibson, Helly, Ulmark and the FA group looking not so great with Adin Hill looking to get paid, they pivot to a familar face to Dubas. A goaltender who had alot of success with Dubas in Toronto.

As EDM also looks to re-vamp the bottom 6, and clear a bit of cap space, they move on from Forgele who in my eyes is a good 3rd liner who can produce at a decent rate, he simply has trouble finishing.

The way I see this trade, EDM gets out of 2 years of Cambells contract which seems imovable right now while taking on Granlund who makes the same AAV however has 2 years less.

Oilers fans, would you guys do this type of trade?
EDM
  1. DeSmith, Casey
  2. Granlund, Mikael
Additional Details:
It's no secret that Granlund did not work out at all in Pittsburgh and is viewd as a cap dump since he has little to no value. So Dubas decides to move him in a Bad contract for Bad contract Hockey trade.

With the pens wanting to revamp the crease, they also move on from Desmith as he is a solid backup, but cannot be relied on as a starter if needed. Here he would go to EDM and Backup Skinner.
2.
PIT
  1. DeBrincat, Alex [RFA Rights]
Additional Details:
I know it's not official yet, but it doesn't seem like Debrincat wants to re-sign in Ottawa and the sens are looking to move on because of that.

Dubas makes a huge splash to boost the foward core by getting a young and exciting superstar foward. What better way to start off.

With Ottawa paying #7 and 2nd and 3rd to get Cat, I believe they will be looking for a similar package back which I believe is accomplished here.

Ottawa can flip the picks for players as they look to push for the playoffs, IDK if the pens have any of those that the sens would want. LMK if I am wrong though.
OTT
  1. Rutta, Jan
  2. 2023 1st round pick (PIT)
  3. 2024 2nd round pick (PIT)
  4. 2024 4th round pick (PIT)
Additional Details:
#14 OA

Pens fans won't be stocked to give up futures, but we are looking to contend and when it comes time to rebuild, we can then re-flip Debrincat for futures.

Rutta is a solid Right shot dmen to replace Hamonic, veteran presence for a relatively young blue line.

LA needs to make room for Brandt clark and potentially Jordan Spence, so they move on from one of there many right shot dmen

I feel like Bjornfot doesn't get much love and mayby isn't the guy for the 3rd LD spot in LA? correct me if im wrong, but that's the feeling im getting when looking at Kings ACGM.

I can't see LAK making that trade. They have no cap issues now, they only have 5 D signed, so it's not like they need to move someone to create the room you discussed. If LAK wants to really. Contend, unlikely they go with two rookie D there.

I really like what you did here. I do think the D needs an upgrade in the top 4, but other than that this is really good.

Jets will qualify him, my guess is he’s worth a mid-pick.

Sens need to move DeBrincat and get a LW and a RW, 2 middle six forwards (Nick Paul and Connor Brown would have been ideal, but Dorion)

If they can't get that from Pitt, then this deal is fine

Rutaa could play 3rd pairing RD besides Brannstrom and then Sens use some of the pieces to get that LW and RW elsewhere

Not a bad looking squad. I think I'd rather buy out Granlund than swap for Campbell - and make a run at a UFA goalie instead. But overall still a solid roster.
