Description

Goal here is for Hawks to move up in the first round of the '23 draft and give the rebuild another boost.

Vancouver trades #11 to Hawks for #19 and they get their '24 2nd rounder back. They also shed Garland's cap hit. I have Garland at a neutral value. Doesn't cost anything to get rid of, but doesn't bring anything big back either. I've seen Garland moves on this site ranging from Garland getting a 2nd to Garland costing a 3rd to move. So I'm going w/ neutral value. If I'm wrong I'm sure I'll hear about it and the trade can be adjusted.

Pens deal is a Dubas special. He likes to trade down, and he's something of a svengali when it comes to hitting on mid round picks. Pens trade #14 to Hawks for #35, #51 and #55. They also shed Granny at a cost roughly equal to #48, so right in the middle of round 2. Seen plenty of trades on this site where Pens attach a 2nd to move Granny. If Granny doesn't work for Pens in this deal, Hawks will take Petry instead. Same deal. Dubas takes those three 2nd's and jump starts the replenishment of Pittsburgh's prospect pool.

Both are pretty fair value and I should think would be strongly considered. On the Nucks deal, I would even be willing to take Myers (post bonus when he is mostly cap and not salary) and like tweak the secondary pick to a 3rd. Getting to dump Granlund for the value of a mid 2nd and going from 2 picks in the first 4 rounds to 4 should be enticing to the Pens.

I am also willing to push in the TRad chip to make some of this happen if he is given a valuation of a late 1st in the calculating of the values.

Fair enough. There seemed to be a lot of interest from Canucks fans on here to get that '24 2nd back. Hawks still have #44 that could be added to replace the '24 pick.

I would do the OTT 2nd in place of the '24 Nucks 2nd.
