Description

Canucks trade $10.25m in injury salary to Philadelphia for $24m. Flyers want to move Ellis' contract and the Canucks can use his LTI to create space for themselves.

In addition, Vancouver sends Tyler Myers and Nils Hoglander and take shot at Joel Farabee as Philadelphia feels they may have overpaid the winger.

Not sure I see Garland costing that, even retained, after Vancouver couldn’t even beg teams to take him at the TDL

Farabee just played a season after getting neck surgery, he wasn't gonna produce too good first season adjusting to it.

This trade just doesn't make sense for the Flyers. It runs down to cap dumps and aging vets plus Hoglander for Farabee and a permanent guest of the LTIR.

I'd rather keep the young guy coming off surgery who's paid a tad extra.
