Detroit is not a trade partner. Look elsewhere.

Sabres interest in Pesce suggests they want a guy who is solid defensively to pair with Powers.

Leafs would be an odd fit and doubt they will go out of their way to try to fit him in.

Detroit maybe but he would have to come cheap, so I would rule that out.

I like the idea of Seattle trading for him, even though I'm starting to see SEA fans wanting guys who are defensively sound.

I think the Oilers will try to force fit him in.

An odd fit, but maybe Vancouver would go after him if OEL was willing to waive for SJ.

Perhaps CBJ, but I think that would have to be a move of desperation by Jarmo.

If SJ was taking on OEL then the retention would be minimal. Sharks have a logjam at LD and OEL makes that even worse. Its very unlikely tbh.

Karlsson has asked for a trade to a contender. 2 of the 4 teams haven't seen the playoffs in years and year after year it gets harder to look at TOR as a contender as currently constructed. Not sure he'd wave for ANY of those teams unless he's a big believer in potential. Maybe Seattle is his best hope at this point (?) . . . but I'd be absolutely shocked if Francis trades for EK65.
