Description

The big trade is obviously the Hellebuyck. Trade made with an extension in place 8.75x6. Should not be too much of an issue when figuring Schneider and Kuokkanen come off as well as Smith, Schenn. Cap should go up to 87.5. McBain is a gritty forward we need and I think would bookend that 4th line nicely with a comfortable cap hit. In all honesty we don't need to trade for Hellebuyck but it would be a nice to have more confidence going into the playoffs knowing that you have a top 5 goalie.

Management loves mcbain I don’t think they’d move him, he just set the franchise hit record and finished with 15 points in the last 23 games. Feel like he’s just scratching the surface of what he can be honestly

That’s about 3m too much on an Hellebuyck extension you’re suggesting. That contract is gonna age horribly from day one and Schmid will likely be the better goalie between the two in ~3 years.
