Description
The Staal bros are just for grins. Supposedly they're at an impass. Maybe bringing the entire family in helps? It's not like they'll get paid a ton and can be veteran depth pieces like Kessel was for Vegas last year.

Signing Graves is a long term move. Just looking at Pesce and Skjei...next year Slavin. Plus Nikishin/Morrow. I think the issue with Peace /Skjei is term. If Pesce was going to accept a 6x6...I feel like CAR as a would would have already accepted that. This isn't too far off. We can argue maybe Graves doesn't accept. Ok maybe. But this would be setting a bar for Peace/Skjei. Are you really going to ask for a hometown Premium??? That isn't going to fly in CAR.

Since CAR doesn't like rentals...they'd need to work out a long term contract...whatever that may be. BUT CGY gets a 1st in a deep draft a high prospect and a long term contract.

It's a realistic return for Lindholm.

I would accept I think.

Carolina pay basically 2 1sts a 2nd and a 3rd for a guy they didn't like when they moved him away in the first place... Lindholm may be the most overrated player in the league right now. He's absolutely fine defensively, but he's a 50-60 point guy and he cannot carry his own line. I would not move Kotkaniemi for him straight up because KK has shown flashes of straight up being better. Plus, Kotkaniemi is just as good if not better defensively.

That's really high for Graves. Severson got less and is a RD, which are more valuable. Look about 5.5-5.75 for Graves.

Lindholm didn't have the chance to grow into the player he is today because the #1C role was deservedly taken by Aho. He's literally been a #1 PPG center. But when you of all people says "flashes of brilliance" for a CANEs player...that means he's NOT already brilliant and could still be a #3C because once you start saying perennial Hart candidate...thats when I know there will be a #2C potential with KK.

It's a very similar trade as the 1st Lindholm trade. Hammy, for players not getting full ice time. You can't trade KK as if he's guaranteed to follow Lindholm. No GM does that. There's risk he never becomes Lindholm 2.0, but there's potential with the right development and ice time thay maybe one day he can. That's all a maybe. Lindholm has done it.

As for Graves...I'm open to adjust. He's 100% better than Gavrikov though. So the floor is $6M

I hope they say no because this isn’t a good deal for the hurricanes. Then we waste all of our cap on Graves and a bunch of 4th liners

In what way? Lindholm is obviously the best player. Part of the trade is assumed there's a deal in place both the team and he would accept so it's not like he'll get a bloated contract.

The 1st? AH?
