Description
He dumps Johansen half retained, buys out Duchene, adds a 32yo 2C/34yo okay winger/34yo bottom pairing D and it sounds like he's going hardest after Debrincat at the moment. Looking at this squad on paper, it looks like a first round exit/WC team for a couple more years until Saros leaves and then it gets worse. Seems like it's just prolonging the rebuild for a couple more years which just makes the prospects coming in more underwhelming. They already had a good start on their prospect pool with Askarov/Kemell/L'Hereux/Schaefer/Svechkov/Wood/Molendyk. Why not improve that even more?

Am I wrong?

Can't see the Canucks being interested in Barrie, could see us being interested in a Fabbro/Sissons trade tho,

He's not in on Cat, nor is he in on anybody from the Canucks. Trotz wanted a culture change. He was tired of guys on our team making millions to slack off and produce a half arsed effort. ROR and Schenn have won cups, he wanted to bring in vets to help mentor our younger players in this retool.

All 3 are BC boys! I think that pick/prospect would have to be pretty solid to get that done. Would be curious of NSH fans opinions.

Do you like where the team appears to be headed?

Looks like he's trying to win a cup. He buys out duchene and trades banged up johansen to shake up the core.

He's trying to mix vets with rookies.
