1 - appreciate the team name because it's awesome!
2 - this is a reasonable Debrincat trade. ANA loses zero prospects and keeps their 1st round pick. Not at all what OTT paid to get Debrincat but the madness has to end and I can live with this return.
3 - this team, with a 13th fwd and 7th D man, is cap compliant and keeps Joseph who we need for the PK and will have a much better season overall. We might even have some money to use at the deadline if TOR buys out Murray (likely) and the inevitable LTIR. :(
4 - yes, $2M is low for Pinto but "prove it" deals aren't that uncommon and I think it's in his favour since the cap goes up significantly next year and he could sign a bridge deal closer to $3.5 - $4M if things go well for him. That works out to more money for him than making an extra $500K this year.
5 - I'm flexible on the line configurations but think Giroux deserves to start with Tkachuk and Stützle given what that line did last season.
