IMO, we need to stop throwing away assets on the biggest name on the market.

Or else, we'll get another Duchene-DeBrincat like fiasco.

Giving up your 1st & 2nd round picks from 2 drafts ago plus a 1st round in next year's just to play the guy on the 3rd line? Seems like a ton of assets to give up.

also taking the cap dump of joseph though. Yeah i have him on the 3rd line but he wouldn't be a "3rd liner". Think Reinhart on florida or Kessel on pittsburgh

These assets wouldn't be missed too much. And Konecny would have a better chance of staying than those guys
