Yikes. That D is scary. You might want to keep Fowler instead of retaining $9m for him to play from the Leafs. Better add at least a 1st for that

Big fat decline from ANA. Not retaining a dollar if Fowler gets moved (which isnt happening). If we want Nylander, wait a season and sign him as a UFA

If Nylander hits free agency, I think Anaheim would be the best dark horse to sign him. But not in a trade, this likely isn’t the type of players that Toronto would look for. They’d want at least 1 younger guy as the starting point (likely McTavish). & it’s hard to believe Nylander would sign a $8M x 8 year deal anywhere, but if he was going to it’d be in Toronto as that was already offered and turned down by Nylander’s camp. He’ll likely be in the $9M’s somewhere on a 8 year deal
