Schmidt appears to be a cap dump. The Sharks might want another pick to take him, but maybe the quality of the two prospects takes care of that. We'd rather have Dillon than Schmidt. Miss that guy. Maybe Dillon and/or Dylan instead of Schmidt?
The only problem is that EK will only waive for a contender.

Karlsson isn't waiving for Winnipeg, the Canes decline and the Flames trade is unnecessary but ultimately these are all bad for the Jets.
