Description
It has been reported that DAL shown some interest in Petry (source Chris Johnston) so I'm looking to see what could be realist

Petry for Hakanpaa + picks would require DAL to run a 21 men roster ; not ideal

To make it work, Faksa could be involved. It would open a spot for 4th C, so MTL adding Evans would fill it

Value-wise, we could argue Faksa and Evans are even ; maybe Faksa as a hedge hockey-wise but his cap hit brings his value down. I see Evans fill Faksa shoes without a problem

Habs would definitely prefer to lose a body. Petry (50% retained) & Evans for Faksa and a 2nd & 4th seems fine.

You adressed both teams needs, cap restrictions and balanced value. The only thing I kinda disagree is the need to get Evans to replace Faksa. IMO Dellandrea could maybe fill in since his FO% got over 50% last season. But you can't have to much depth at center.

People love to destroy AGMs (righfully, most are awefull), but this is one of the few balanced and, might I say, realistic. Good job.

Now, I guess DAL would prefer to send Suter back. I could see MTL agree for a bigger return. Think about it smile

Suter is going nowhere. He has a full NMC and he is playing like a Tourist with our Franchise D.

True he has a NTC. I just assumed he would be bought out anyway so he didnt really had a reason to block the trade. But after verifications, it would be impossible and terrible for MTL caphit. You are right DAL is stuck with him I guess.

Pinslack's idea makes even more sense then.

Not a huge fan of the trade personally. I mean the value is there - I personally just don't want yet another 35+ year old D-man with multiple years left on his contract. Just makes it even harder for Lundkvist to get a change to prove himself at NHL level, and we'd also lose a decent penalty killer in the process. Not to mention the picks too. Also, Faksa's defensive prowess last year was extremely valuable, I do not see the point in moving him, he's one of the best 4Cs in the league, albeit a bit expensive.
