I'm not smart enough to analyze this trade but all I know is that's a LOT going to Carolina and a LOT coming to Arizona lol. It's definitely two teams dealing from their strengths (ARI offense, CAR defense) but the draft picks is what gets me. I'd have to think Carolina says no.

Seems like an unnecessary amount of draft picks here. Could clean this up a lot:

Schmaltz, Maccelli, and Valimaki

for

Skjei, Pesce with an extension, Gunler, a 2024 1st and a 2024 2nd.

Not sure arizona should do that but interesting.

Seems like a wildly unnecessary roll of the dice for both teams. Arizona isn’t winning the cup this year, all 3 of those players are pending UFAs in their late 20s, just doesn’t make any sense
