Description

Just an example given the current prospect system, another lucky draft pick in 2024 (they will pick in the top 5 at least), and one big free agent signing (aka Hossa).

Obviously the prospects coming up can be different but this is my best guess at this point who is part of the plan. Beyond the names we already know well (Nazar, Moore, etc.), Kantserov is one to keep the eye on; truly believe this kid is special. Also believe Ludwinski will be a key piece and often overlooked. Lastly, Rinzel has the ability to play into a 2nd line role, but at worse, he's a 3rd liner.

There is clearly a hole on RHD if Allan and or Rinzel doesn't work out, but obviously there is a lot of cap space to play with to fill that hole. This is important point, cap space will allow this team in the 2026/2027 to acquire players to make this a playoff team IMO. Let me be clear, playoff team is different than Cup contender...that's still a year or two away from this point but they will be competing in the playoffs for sure.

Should be fun to watch over the next couple of years as they build out this young core.

You should be able to get more for Murphy that a 2nd with 50% retainage.

I'm not sure honestly. This is forward looking to the summer of 25/26 with 1 year left and 32 years old.

This is pretty close to my thoughts as well. I think Ludwinski is going to be a legit NHLer, beyond that, I see him in a 4th line role. I don't see him overtaking Guttman, but I also see Guttman becoming trade bait. Also, Misiak might have been the best looking young player/prospect through prospect camp and training camp, before he was reassigned. I see him in a middle 6 role, likely 3rd line. If we get Eiserman, that would be amazing. Not sure I see CHI going after Nylander specifically, but I could definitely see them going after a young top 6 forward. I'm pretty high on the upside of guys like Mercer, Vilardi, Lafreniere, Dellandrea, and Jarvis, as possible targets over the next couple years.
