Over payment for a goalie, no matter how bad Campbell's contract is. But the biggest issue with this trade is Campbell has a NMC... so highly doubt he approves a trade to Arizona.

Not a big overpayment though, Vejmelka is probably worth a 2nd rounder and Clearing Campbell contract would cost a 1st rounder +.
Maybe Arizona add a depth guy like Boyd or McBain to make it even

I think the big problem here is that Arizona will be looking to compete (shocking, I know) really soon. Campbell doesn’t give them that chance.

Hard pass from AZ. That Soup contract is an anchor around Edmonton's neck while the team tries to tread water. I am here for it and got my bag of popcorn for the inevitable McDavid "F this team, I want out" show.

Hmmmm....AZ might be an appealing spot for McDavid when he demands a trade?! Great tax rate, don't have to shovel sunshine, can actually go out to eat and not be mobbed, well-constructed young team on the rise that won't need to rely on 1-2 players for EVERYTHING. Seems like it could be a fit, better keep some of my popcorn for that Canadian meltdown.
