The Blues also have to adhere to the salary cap, ya know. And the Flyers obviously pass.

Flyers are not wasting a retention spot on Laughton.

How do people find a way to ruin the Leafs more

Just get Tanev but definitely not at the price of Lilly, you basically kill your future with that & it’s pointlessly overpaying, I’d give a 1st + 3rd & call it a day, only guy i’d want from St.Louis is Torpchenko & Laughton is really not worth it

The 5th or 6th best defender on an atrocious defensive team.

Am I wrong or did Liljegren cost you guys the playoffs last year?

Tanev at 50% probably gets a late round 1st and a mid round 3rd. I cant really say Liljegren gets more than a late round 1st. Hes in his 7th pro year, hasnt established himelf as a top 4 dman, hasn;t produced enough to be a puck rusher, not big enough to be a crease clearer, was a healthy scratch in playoffs and as a 1.4mil expiring RFA, its really decision time. I get it, for the leafs they need to keep as much youth (affordable youth) as possible, but I can;t say that Liljegren at this moment is as valuable as Sandin was when he got a 1st rounder (very bottom of round one at that).

So Liljegren and a 3rd to CGY is IMO, pretty even.

As far as STL, they'd be making other moves to make the cap space to take Klingberg. But a 1st for Vrana at 50% is a good return.

Staal would be a great 7th, avg 18 mins a year last year in FLA. Laughton is a more physical Jarnkrot and signed beyond 23-24. While I like Jarnkrot, Laughton can score more, brings more physicality, and these moves gives us one of the best top 9 in the league both ways.
