Terrible trade for Boston

I wouldn’t accept that deal for Ullmark and his retention alone.

Retention makes the money work. They're going to be flush with money next off season and the capo is going up a big amount. It is only one year of retention after this one and they can absorb it. The alternative would be to send Forbort to Chicago for no compensation and ask them to do the retention on Ully in return.

Edmonton isn't trading their 2024 1st. It's on pace to be a top 10 pick and they can't afford to give that up until later on this season

Not if they do that deal. The team was viewed as a Stanley cup contender if they got competent goaltending. That said, Boston is the wrong team to try and trade with. They have no reason to make a trade
