Description
2022 and 2023 draft... selecting the "flavour of the month", with half of a season of solid play... instead of selecting players who have a track record of dominating...

Teams who win championships have had high draft picks and have NOT missed on their selection.

2022: Kent Hughes was VERY high on Cooley, and he's the player he wanted. Instead, he allowed arrogant Bobrov to lull him into selecting Slavkosky.

2023: Instead of going for massive elite talent (Michkov), or swinging for the fences and trading #5, #31, #37 and even more draft picks just to move 2 spots - 2 spots!!! - to select their future center in Fantilli or Carlson... they go with another flavour of the month in Reinbacher.

Fire Bobrov. I'm not getting over the massive failures of those 2 drafts.

2022 draft, is debatable at best, cooley off to a better start after waiting a year, Slaf upside is still there and his improvements are showing not writing that off as the wrong pick yet.

2023 Bobrov doesnt make trades, Hughes does, also don't think that opportunity to move up as you suggest was necessarily there, the top 3 players were well above the rest and i dont think either ducks or columbus wouldve passed on the center they wanted to simply add more assests. Reinbacher selection will take a few years before we know if it was correct, most high end defenseman do not come into their potential till 23 or 24 years old. Michkov was clearly a risk felt by multiple teams, hence him slipping to 7th. I would say i was hoping to see them take Ryan Leonard instead because i think he fit an organizational need but again that's a preference not necessary the better pick.

If by your account this is all on Bobrov and Hughes knew better then wouldn't the blame fall on the GM and not the scout?

Come now, don't use logic to formulate a well thought out argument, this is clearly a fan who knows better than the GM or scouts here. Their knowledge of hockey prospects is way more vast than that of the Habs GM or their team of scouts combined!

I like what you said

Can we wait until Slaf and Reinbacher are both 23 and 22 yo before saying they made the wrong picks
Slafkovsky has the potential top be a 1st line power forward and Reinbacher a top2 RHD who are both big

I agree; it falls on the GM regardless.

Duuuuude, why the sudden attack?

I'm expressing some 'feelings' lol

I didn't say I KNEW better. I said Hughes's guy WAS Cooley.

I don't know why when a fan expresses their 'opinions', they are immediately shut down.

This is fantasy.

If I was GM, I would fire Bobrov.
But if I were president of the Canadiens, I would NEVER hire me as GM lol

Dude, chill out with the attacks... this site has become so nasty towards people expressing their fan emotions... you see signs in all areans across all cities with signs that say 'Fire so-and-so'

Jeeeezz, sorry i said anything... it was just to spark a conversation
