Description
BOS has limited high end assets, which I believe makes Sweeney less inclined to go big name hunting at the deadline, or just won't beat competing offers.

I'm expecting value moves for depth. Duclair would be a nice fit for BOS in my opinion.

Duclair makes a ton of sense, but I think you’d have to do a better prospect Olson if you are offering just a 3rd round pick. Part of me wonders if they’d take Steen and a 3rd rounder for Duclair. Maybe add an ancillary prospect like Gasseau or Jelvik whom they should be seeing a lot of right now with Will Smith in BC.

The open challenge is it means you can’t call Lohrei up unless you are using LTIR.

I can see Duclair fetching a 2nd pick at most. Probably will see him get traded for a 3rd and B/C prospect. Not too familiar with the Bruins prospect pool but I’d imagine if there’s a solid young bottom 6er, the sharks would take him.

Duclair has 5 points in 17 games. Idc that he's on the Sharks, he's not getting a 2nd rounder with those stats as a no-defense forward

If they trade for Duclair without a player on the roster going, they will have to expose either Steen or Lauko to waivers. IMO, neither passes through without being claimed and both have value in a trade.

Steen and a 3rd for Duclair at full retention for 1 year would make some sense for both sides. It does remove some flexibility with Lohrei and Lysell without the use of LTIR. It also caps San Jose’s ability to use another retention slot during this trade season. Neither I think is a massive deal.

Yea I think Steen + a 3rd works. Just don't see Duclair getting a 2nd with his current play
