Stuff Other Teams Dont Want

This guy is on LTIR and giving them minimal cap space for the Leafs. By trading Woll now, the Leafs set themselves up with more success by getting a more expensive LTIR guy who can give them more cap space. Woll has been playing time between the minors the last couple seasons and clearly isn't anything worth while.

This also solves the problem Leafs fans have been complaining about since Poolman is a RHD and they've been looking for that. Sure, he can't play but that at least gets the fans off of management's back.

Now I've noticed a lot of Minnesota Wild fans putting this guy on trades, so he clearly can't be that good otherwise they'd want to keep him. But he's also signed long term for a decent AAV and JEE only has 1 GP in the last postseason so you can tell he's not a playoff performer, JEE doesn't show up when his team needs him. I think with this kind of player teams would normally have to give away 1st round picks (see Monahan for a comparison) but in this case I could see the Canucks paying a 5th like they got for Beauvillier, who also didn't even bother to play a playoff game last year.

Edmonton has been looking to do a 1 for 1, dollar in, dollar out trade and I think this fits perfectly for both teams. Edmonton gets a steady, rock-solid AHLer to replace Broberg and the Canucks get a struggling prospect. Irwin brings decades of experience playing tweener hockey that you can only find in waiver pickups or giving up the coveted Future Considerations that so many teams are desperate not to move out.
