Description
The perenial missing of the playoffs has to end, Sabres need to stop stockpiling youngsters and start identifying which ones are the now AND the future.

Otherwise just blocking guys from developing and not using the major assets the team has to improve. Sabres have tons of cap space and tons of prospects, and a pretty young NHL team, so lets use those assets to finally take the next step

For example, giving up Kulich is a lot, but sabres still have savoie and rosen stuck in minors with Benson, Quinn, peterka, cozens (very young guys) in nhl, so whats the point of having so many prospects and not enough development or ice time, when they can be used as assets

No thanks on Hart, especially not worth that much. Id rather move Mitts than Kulich too. Cernak would be nice, but I doubt they can convince TB to move him. Not really many good options out there. Mitts is not a winger, in fact those lines are all over the place

I agree with Shibbal
You’re asking for too much for Hart- and like i already told you, the Sabres are unlikely to meet Philly’s demands for him.
Also pretty sure that Kulich is the last prospect we’d move at this point

Highly doubt Tampa would move Cernak, but i would love to get him

Agree with both Anti and Sibbal above, and certainly not giving up on Levi, but this team needs an upgrade in net and a steady crease clearer.

Hart (because of his age and production in front of that diabolical defense) and Cernak fit the bill perfectly.

I also think that with so many youngsters on the roster (sepcifically quinn, benson, peterka, cozens), that the high forward prospects savoie, rosen, ostlund, kulich will not get the ice time or development until guys are moved off the nhl team or they decide out of those 4 prospects which ones they will crowbar in.

As far as the hart deal, joki is having a good year and will get mucho coin, (same as Mittelstadt) but I think hes too similar to the puck rushing power and dahlin, and hes coming off a bad year and overall, I think hes a bit too soft. So its him, and if we make the playoffs - its a mid round 2nd, and then one of the 4 forward prospects we least need (maybe its not kulich). I dont think based on Harts play (on THAT team) that its a HUGE over offer, but its enough for them to do it.

As far as Cernak, well he'd be heavily in demand, hes one of the more moveable contracts they have, and if they dont make the playoffs they need to find some picks/good prospects which they lack. If Im TB, of course I dont look to move him, but if I tank out of the playoffs with those heavy contracts and weak system/picks....anything is possible.

Too much for hart. Yes to cernak. Also agree that mittelstadt and jokiharju should be pieces that are used to upgrade, not because they are bad, but because they are decent, but too similar to our other players, and this team needs to add variety.
