Given his point production and AAV I bet if Nashville would trade Novak they could easily get a 1st plus.

Nothing against Novak, and I understand his AAV is super cheap but if someone spends a 1st on a player that turns 27 in April and still spent a qtr of the year last year in the AHL i'd consider it overpayment

It was the first quarter of last season. His play was so good he deserved the call up. In 77 NHL games since then he has 23 goal and 60 points. Adding that kind of production for 800k is what a contender dreams of adding.

27 is still in his prime, i would agree its a weird age to get a first big contract, but still can’t deny his production. Anyways, i doubt with Nashville in a playoff spot and not seeming to budge much that the will be selling unless they fall off super hard.

I don't have any doubt about his production or play, and again think his AAV is a massive selling point for a buyer looking to add.

Would agree though that they don't move him unless they fall out of playoffs or don't think they can resign him.
