Description
Nashville Trade: Lets assume Nashville moves Saros for a massive return to someone like Edmonton or New Jersey. Now Let's assume they don't wanna throw Askarov into the depths as the starter or backup just yet so they acquire Allen for cheap who is able to continue in Saros place to end 2024 then Continue next year as the 1A to Askarov being the 1B. Then after 2024/25 Season Allen is UFA and Askarov as now had another 1 1/2 to develop before being relied on in a Starters capacity. Also to add to all this the next 2 Drafts are very solid drafts to be in the bottom 10 so don't come at me saying Allen doesn't move the needle cause if Im trotz im selling everyone outside of Askarov Josi and U25s for a better chance in the 2024, 2025. and maybe even 2026 Drafts

I get the reasoning behind the Nashville trade but still can't see them trading Saros

MTL doesn't go the Vancouver trade. If Savard is traded it's for picks and prospects

I'd hate trading with Boston but I'd do it

Don't think Dallas does that last deal

If futures with askarov is what Nashville and Trotz believe than entirely possible. Boston deal makes sense whether poitras is sent down or not. They are still weaker center position and make not want to pay what Calgary wants for Lindholm.
If deadline happened this way it would be good for MTL.

Nashville would take back a goalie on a cheaper contract that expires instead of paying a 3rd for Allen who isn’t worth that price

Habs should keep Savard.
Why would they trade Savard for Myers?
This makes no sense.

Canucks pass. Don’t want the extra year of Savard
