Wish the timing of this was better, and I feel like the wild are going to drag out their MAF decision to the last min.

Is there a decision for them to make? He is the one with the full NMC who has expressed an intent to stay at the beginning of the season. If he decides he wants to go chase one more Cup, that’s his decision really.

Technicalities really…Fluery wouldn’t be calling teams or receiving trade proposals from other teams. Yes, there is a decision to make. Are the Wild good enough to win and compete or not. That is the decision.

That's IF Fleury reverses on his decision that he doesn't want to be traded again. Just because the Wild aren't good enough doesn't mean Fleury will suddenly want to leave his family for a few months again.

I think a lot of people are confused about this situation. Fleury is the one that doesn't want to move for personal reasons. It's not up to the Wild at all. And even if he changes his mind and wants to go after another Cup, the Wild don't have to trade him without getting the value they want in return.

No confusion on my part - none of this matters because MAF decision/no decision won’t ever be there because the Canes will have moved on by the time the Wild and Fleury even get to that possible conversation.
