I genuinely don't understand why Sorrows is in the rumor mill of being traded, but even if he was, it's gonna cost you one of Holtz, Nemec, Mercer, or someone like that... the best player they get out of this trade is Kevin Bahl? A bottom 4 defenseman when they already have a million of them? They would get supremely better offers in many other deals. With them being somewhat comfortably in a wild card spot, I don't even get why they'd do this

Meier was an expiring UFA at a highly replaceable position, on a team that is fully rebuilding... that is not even close to this situation.

Entirely different situations. Sharks were rebuilding and Meier was getting traded no matter what. Trotz has no reason to move Saros this year, so he can put any absurd price he wants to see if someone is desperate enough
