In a world where Columbus did actually end up entertaining offers or Jiricek, the pieces in the return here just don't make sense. They're stacked at LD for the future between Werenski, Meteychuk, Svozil, and Ceulemans. The biggest reason Jiricek is so unlikely to be moved even if the relationship sours further is because a long term top pairing RD is something that only he can fill for Columbus. They don't have anyone else on the roster or pipeline with anywhere near the potential to be that, so trading him for a LD and winger just doesn't make sense need wise.

A rare ACGM trade proposal that makes no sense for either team.

And why would the Hawks move 1 highly rated defense prospect for another? Korchinski isn't souring in Chicago, if the relationship with Jiricek sours with colombus, Chicago's not going to move a highly touted prospect in return....it's a net zero gain for chicago.

Which is exactly why this makes 0 sense. I'm not telling you to ignore Chicago's situation. Just have some awareness of the team your trying to trade with. The same way you're saying Chicago has no reason to move Korchinski, Columbus has no reason to move Jiricek for a package that fills 0 needs.

I'm not trying to trade (nor are the Hawks) Korchinski; it's a net zero move for both teams.
