Dont see Montreal taking this. Xhekaj isn't some throw in, and Berggren himself maybe fetches a 2nd/late 1st.

Xhekaj is a weird case that his pure objective play is not overly amazing - he plays hard, hits hard, would probably be a menace like Chariot, Weber and Edmundson were during the playoffs - but he's a good third pairing dman or 2nd pairing at best.

Which is where lies all his value - an enforcer that CAN ACTUALLY PLAY HOCKEY and contribute without hurting your team and plays actual minute unlike a Ryan Reaves.

The main source of his value comes after the whistle. The guy casts a shadow on other team's player (aka compare Tkachuk playing the habs with and without the Sheriff in the line-up). They know that if they act up - there is a very decent chance that they will meet the Sheriff in the corner in one or two shifts. Also, he doesn't pretend fight... he dummies his opponents and make them look foolish most of the time.

Detroit and Montreal pass, if we deal Berggren in a package deal it's for a better top 4 LHD like Hanifin or Chychrun than Xhekaj.
