Description
Just building on the previous 2 i created with the ryjo kampf swap to see how the big year with the resignings could shake down. Obviously assuming landy never comes back.
I've got byram slotted 2C currently because i assume him or girard gets moved this year mostly because we have too much money bundled up in d for this season with the raises up front so pretty much 5 mil for a 2C.
No idea what contracts will really be in two years so i took a best shot. Also blackwood could be any goalie as we pretty much take a gamble on backups and turn them into starters, just basically around 3mil like usual.

You save cap space by just buying RyJo out instead of taking that awful Kampf contract

Manson will be the first D traded; I'd say this offseason but if the Avs just try and plug holes up front with cheap guys they might be able to afford to keep him. They might have to trade Byram or Girard at some point but that won't happen for a while. I could quibble a bit with what you're paying some guys but this looks somewhat plausible minus taking on that terrible Kampf contract.

Yeah, by over $1M; that's a decent veteran 4th liner.

haha good grief you guys are acting like its james neals last deal, it's 2.4. I mean i don't watch toronto enough to know anything about kampf but i think treveling made it look worse by signing more centers and he got burried 4th line there. I'd bet he would be fine at 3C in our system and be able to play solid 2 way between wood and kovalenko who are not the first back in the play. 30 points for a 3rd line center for 2.4 playing solid 2 way hockey is a pretty good deal on a cap strapped team i think, but who knows i guess i don't watch toronto.

also i think it would be one of girard or byram over manson mostly because value wise they both hold more but the main point is all our prospects are basically girards and byrams. Even with manson sometimes throwing the puck away for no reason he's been very mobile this year and will bring the physical edge we all loved when we won the cup.

Kampff has 3 not one not two but THREE more years. In that time frame Mikko gets a new contract, Byram gets a new contract, LOC gets a new contract you get the point. RyJo has gotten progressively worse yes, but worst case scenario you buy him out he is a $2M cap hit the next 2 years. Better to rip that band aid off and be done with the pain of it instead of just prolonging the agony.
