Montreal will get the Flames 1st round pick next year unless the Flames are picking 1-10. The rest of the trade options are pretty unlikely, so the Flames need to decide what they are going to do. Tanking, giving up the Florida pick, and keeping their own is the right call. That means moving a bunch of guys, either at the deadline or the draft.

Conroy already said no on retaining for Markstrom.

And Friedman basically said that Conroy isn't retaining on any pending UFAs this year, Hence no retention on either Zadorov or Lindholm.
