Description
'24-25 is the last tank year imo. Improve the roster slightly to help develop these guys guys, then in the next year you add Demidov (2024 pick) and Moore to this roster plus another likely top 5 pick in 2025. After one more year the foundation should be laid for Bedard and you can think about making a big splash in UFA

Guys like Hall, AA, Donato, etc can be deadline bait

That's way too much for Spence. Other than that, this looks about right.

Yeah, well, Bedard for DuBois is a righty-for-lefty swap, too.

I think that you're wrong there, esteemed friend. Spence is miles ahead of Kaiser, who will never be allowed near a power play.

lol. Well, I'm not comparing the players, persay. Just based on value alone, it's too much. Take Kaiser out and I still wouldn't do it. Plus, Kaiser is a much better player than you give him credit for, although his start at the pro level hasn't gone very well. He is sort of a boom or bust, high ceiling, low floor, type, IMO. And his tools are actually suited perfectly to a PP if he hits anywhere near his ceiling. Most of all, though, CHI has no business buying any player for that much. I'd rather use the pick and see what kind of steps Kaiser takes, and then way down the road we can address RD through trade if need be. Plus, Spence sucks defensively. I don't mind the idea of acquiring him, but not for that much.

I say let some other team pay that price and we can snag a free agent on a short term deal.

Fair enough. Thanks for the educational input -- your opinion, as always, is valued.

To be fair, Spence wouldn't be on the LA or CHI powerplay come next year
