Description
Overview:
The sharks are still in a rebuild and will be for at least a couple more seasons. At the deadline they don’t have much to bring in high returns but I see them moving some players.

This roster is based on the idea that couture can still play and gets past his core groin injury.

Here they also trade with enemy. It shores up cap space for Vegas without dumping assets for nothing. Chmelevski has been stellar in the KHL but will be a cheap sign in the nhl saving Vegas space while adding a pick.

Draft:
The sharks get lucky and finally win the lottery bringing Celebribi back to the bay.

1st: Macklin Celebrini
12th (from Pitt): Liam Greentree

I’m assuming all the D are off the board by then, maybe not Adam Jiricek who I could see Grier taking to add a RD.

Post draft top 10 prospects:
1: Macklin Celebrini
2: Will Smith
3: Quentin Musty
4: Shakir Mukhamadullin
5: Filip Bystedt
6:Liam Greentree
7: Danil Gushchin
8: Mattias Havelid
9: Luca Cagnoni
10: Thomas Bordeleau
HM: Kasper Halttunen

All rfa or unsigned players who will not be offered.

Biggest swing and miss in goalies. Beaupit was a horrible pick; the next 4 goalies taken in the draft all look solid, beaupit can’t even play in the echl he’s so bad. Makiniemi can’t stay healthy and is falling behind. Peterson could be moved to a team looking to take a chance, same with Studnicka (who I knew was terrible, can’t see why they traded for him). Young was great until this year when he transferred to ASU where he has not been good.

    Additional Details:
Sharks get a big forward who’s still young. Seems like a guy Grier would love.
    VGK
    1. Chmelevski, Alexander [Reserve List]
    2. 2025 3rd round pick (SJS)
    Additional Details:
Vegas gets likely a high 3rd and a player who is lighting up the KHL. Likely signs cheap deal to prove himself in the NHL. This move saves Vegas money with their cap issues next year and might allow them to sign other very important pending ufa forwards. This way they don’t have to pay to dump a player.

Kunin not worth a 3rd and not sure if he could break into the 4th line on the Leafs so zero interest in Kunin

I would be ecstatic if Roy could be acquired at all, let alone for that proposed exchange of Sasha and a 3rd (I understand Sasha's been tearing it up in Russia, but even still). Vegas declines, at least at the TDL simply because they need Roy for their cup run, though maybe they'd accept in the offseason. Value-wise it's a good proposal.

A 3rd for Kunin is too high, especially at his cap hit. I think they sell him for a 4th/5th.

Burroughs on the other hand I think nets a tad more, a 4th or even a 3rd. He's still got multiple years left on his deal at a super low cap hit and is a solid depth defenseman and a guy you'd want on your deep playoff runs and in the locker room.

I'd think Kunin more likely to pass through waivers than get a 3rd. He's legitimately awful on the ice.

Zero chance Roy is moved for so little. Would be a price that SJ wouldn’t pay. I’m certain of it
