Mittlestadt gets moved out of Buffalo because of long term cap reasons and the plethora of young talent in the program. With the need to pay Peterka, Quinn, Levi, UPL in the near future, Mittlestadt finds his way out. Sabres get their backup for 2024 in Lindgren and two prospects the play 2 way hockey Adams values.

With Calgary looking to make some drastic changes, maybe even rebuild, this trade helps that process. Getting 2 top prospects loaded in offensive talent in Rosen and Savoie. Savoie is tenacious as hell and can bring the offense. Rosen is flashy and cuts through teams D. Ryan Johnson is a Top 4 defenseman, he can be properly used as such in Calgary, almost immediately in 2024. Lindgren is a strong skating, all around D prospect that helps fill Calgarys cupboard.

This is exactly the trade the Sabres need to make. Loaded with so many prospects, they need to make a trade that gets them players that will get this team to the playoffs. Coleman is a player the Sabres have desperately needed. Gritty, tenacious, a leader, yet skilled enough to contribute 20 goals and 45 points. Andersson is a hell of an all around defenseman and a player that will have a huge impact on the Sabres core D group.
