Description
I know, I know…. kadri is 33 and 5 years left…. But look how he’s played this year
I think Cowan is a solid bet to be on this team and I think he’s mature enough that he can succeed with Kadri/Nylander
Tavares gets to act as a mentor for Minten, lighter 5v5 matchups and still gets prime pp time
Leafs shell out for Roy
I think Barron’s style is a decent fit on the leafs and the habs have a ton of young D
Cole adds a strong pk option, can mentor young guys, versatile enough to take shifts with mccabe, rielly, roy

Doesn’t have to be Vladar but thought it’d be a cost-effective option and Calgary has to make room for Wolf

Calgary gets a young RD for Kadri, depends how much they value the cap flexibility and if Kadri is willing to waive his NMC to come back

For the following year, Tavares pay decrease + cap increase will help with bridging Knies and extending Marner, should be some leftover too

Potentially overpay for Cole to keep it at 1 year

Habs say no. Leafs fans valuation of Robertson is CRAZY. He hasn't proven anything in the NHL. He can fetch a 3rd at best because he is still a raw prospect.

From the Leaf side, this deal doesn't make any sense. Barron is certainly not what you guys need. A guy like Savard would fit better for you guys at the moment.
Campabee and Burnout liked this.

Robertson due to injuries, size, type of play and still not a sure thing in the top 9, especially on teams laden with higher ceiling youth does not get a Barron back.
I’m not sure he gets his draft position (low round 2nd) back.

Mtl fans wants a 1st and more back, I think they get a 1st for him.

And there’s not enough for CGY in that deal
