I think Kenny Holland has better sense than to acquire a player on waivers who’s on waivers after agreeing to a contract offer. I don’t believe there is any precedent here…especially after the Canes did the oilers a solid with Big Head last deadline.

Remove Foegele from that offer, he has outscored Buchnevich at 5v5 this year despite 100 fewer minutes played.

Edmonton has enough deadline cap space to add Buchnevich at $2.9M without moving anyone off the roster.

(Personally I don't like the cost, but removing Foegele makes it at least a little more realistic).
