Description
Hearing a lot of rumors that the Habs will make some effort to bring some talent via free agency. Obviously we'd have to assume that they'd move out some bodies as well in order to bring on 1,2,3 of these free agents.

Lets just say for example these offers are what it would take to 100% guarantee these players would sign in MTL for. Which player(s) would you choose? If no one, then at least give the most likely of the candidates they would sign then based on these offers.

Teravainen and Marchessault would seem to me to be the best forward fits, but I have no idea what they would sign for. (The former looks low and the latter looks high.) Pesce is the best defensive signing and I think that you have his numbers right.

I really think Montreal will gonna get rid of Dvorack to bring back Monahan for their 3rd line centerman.

Also, they can also make the big shot with Stamkos. They likely gonna target a free agent who can bring somes leadership for the team on a short time. Also, Stamkos have already a solid natural fit with St-Louis and Lecavalier, and also a close childhood friend who can convince him to sign with the Habs is PK Subban...........

Another bold prediction : I think they will try to keep Primeau, but I think that they will not gonna be sure about his real potential futhermore. I think a team like the Flyers (who will gonna need a 2nd goalie next season) can be very interrested on him. That's bring me the quote that the Habs can decide to sign Fleury for a final season of his career for becoming the back-up of Montembeault (and that's can help Monty A LOT for his confidence).

Its anyone guess but my thinking was if Marchessault entertained coming to MTL, it had to be quite a lucrative offer. I doubt many teams could offer higher than this on 4 years. For Turbo, I looked at his injury history and figured he'd want a longer term contract over cashing in as high as possible on a shorter one for some cost certainty. So I brought the AAV down a little but made the deal go into his late 30's to compensate.

Also keep in mind, some of these are inflated on purpose for the "MTL tax". No one in their right mind should be giving Stamkos 10M a year at his age but I think what he still has to offer would be worth overpaying for if I were MTL.

Pesce may be one that Im undervaluing if Im being honest. With the RHD shortage on the market, their will be a bidding war. I think a serious team may have to go 7x7 frankly. MTL especially due to the forementioned "MTL tax".

I would not be mad if the Habs went after Monahan at this price BUT I do think they should make a concerted effort to get someone for the top 6 more, even at the cost of overpaying, than adding to the bottom 6. Honestly I'm all for overpaying on shorter term contracts right now. If Marchessault or Stamkos want 11M for 2 years, I'd do it in a heartbeat.

It might be time to accept that Dach isn't going to be a center but instead a big winger and bring in a 2C like Lindholm.
