Description
If things remained as they are now and Montreal holds the #23 pick and New Jersey holds the #11 pick would New Jersey be willing to trade that pick to Montreal?

The Devils thought that they could be very good this year and that fell apart due to goaltending and defence, but perhaps they are close to competing and not overly interested in waiting for that #11 pick to be a key contributor in 3 or 4 years if they are in a win now mode.

Do Devil fans consider Palat a cap dump (he kind of looks like one to me, given his salary and his production, but I have not watched him much this year)?

If the trade package is not right, how should it be changed (by either team)?

Devils will likely gonna trade their 1st round pick for a top goalie like Markstrom.

I could see that happening. Although, it is rare for such a high pick to be traded for a goalie, but maybe Calgary and New Jersey work out some other details in a larger trade scenario.

It's a ideal scenario for CGY because they will likely gonna want to draft Iginla.

First, no way Palat waives for MTL. Second, why would the Devils be going after quantity over quality? Third, which was addressed in other posts, I can not see the Devils trading a top 15 pick for two years of Markstrom. It is not as if the market is that hot for him that other teams would be offering anything close to that ballpark. Markstrom probably goes for a conditional 2nd at best becoming a 1st if a team reaches the conference finals.
