You’re asking the Blues to gut their defense while taking on an old player at nearly double the cap hit. Making it to where we cannot even try to patch the hole.

Not a knock on Niemela, he’s an ok prospect, but it’d be foolish to think he can have a full season long immediate impact at the NHL level next season. Especially being thrust into a role in which he has to be one of the best shutdown players in the league.

Brett Pesce is seeking 7x7, And I don't see him signing with any Canadian team.

And good luck thinking that Bertuzzi signs for 4x4, He'd have stayed in Detroit for that low-ball offer.
