Description
Extra cap space in case I'm low on the goalies or Lizotte and/or Spence and/or want to sign a 14th forward who isn't waivers-exempt instead of shuttling kids back and forth from Ontario. (And maybe Viktor's new contract doesn't cost as much!)

Cam Talbot's contract includes a $1 million performance bonus just like this season's.

Bye bye, Matt!

I'm scared that he just might be one of those kids whose career is derailed by injuries, like Nolan Patrick. Kirby Dach is starting to scare me that way, too. Maybe next season, if he gets to play with DuBois and Arvidsson, he might break out (like Quinton this season). I'll have my fingers crossed.

Akil Thomas' arrival was also delayed by injury. He might be the real deal, too. He had 1 goal every 3 games in Ontario and he's got 3 goals in 5 games in the NHL, so we're cautiously optimistic about him.

I think he was more of a passenger to greatness than it appeared at the time. That crop of US national team guys was unreal. Look at the guys he was playing with in his Draft year and his minus 1 year. Hughes, Zegras, Caufield, Boldy, Faber, Farabee, Miller. There was so much star power in that group that it made a couple of "also there's" look like stars too. Some of them were always gonna be stars and some where a product of their environment. Guys like Turcotte, Wahlstrom, Beecher etc.

Turcotte did good in college and looking at his AHL stats it isn't terrible. Wally was terrible in college plus that injury he got was the end of the line
