Maybe THIS Will Help DuBois Produce

Created by: OldNYIfan
Team: 2024-25 Los Angeles Kings
Initial Creation Date: Apr. 3, 2024
Published: Apr. 13, 2024
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Extra cap space in case I'm low on the goalies or Lizotte and/or Spence and/or want to sign a 14th forward who isn't waivers-exempt instead of shuttling kids back and forth from Ontario. (And maybe Viktor's new contract doesn't cost as much!)

Cam Talbot's contract includes a $1 million performance bonus just like this season's.

Bye bye, Matt!

What do you think went wrong with Turcotte?

I'm scared that he just might be one of those kids whose career is derailed by injuries, like Nolan Patrick. Kirby Dach is starting to scare me that way, too. Maybe next season, if he gets to play with DuBois and Arvidsson, he might break out (like Quinton this season). I'll have my fingers crossed.

Akil Thomas' arrival was also delayed by injury. He might be the real deal, too. He had 1 goal every 3 games in Ontario and he's got 3 goals in 5 games in the NHL, so we're cautiously optimistic about him.

Hate to see that, I was so high on him a few years ago best wishes to him

I think he was more of a passenger to greatness than it appeared at the time. That crop of US national team guys was unreal. Look at the guys he was playing with in his Draft year and his minus 1 year. Hughes, Zegras, Caufield, Boldy, Faber, Farabee, Miller. There was so much star power in that group that it made a couple of "also there's" look like stars too. Some of them were always gonna be stars and some where a product of their environment. Guys like Turcotte, Wahlstrom, Beecher etc.

Turcotte did good in college and looking at his AHL stats it isn't terrible. Wally was terrible in college plus that injury he got was the end of the line

Dubois being bought out and having to earn a contract again with somebody else will help him produce.

I don't even know that he is.

Most people have known that he sucked since his days getting called out by Torts for being lazy. He just found one dumb GM that decided to move heaven and earth and multiple good players to shift the cap and give him a contact he wasn't remotely worth.

That cap space would get eaten up by Byfield and Talbot rollovers.

No it wouldn't. Byfield's contract runs another season (that's precisely why I gave him two) and Gavrikov's expires at the end of the season shown. 2024-2025 should be Talbot's last.

No. Byfield's ELC bonuses (approximately 850k and Talbots 1 mill) will rollover to 24-25 because the kings are fully using LTIR

I Think PL can set up guys like Arvy very well and build good chemistry. He has played most of the season with non-prductive kids like Lafferiere (who is not having a bad rookie season) and Anderson-Dolan. Yes, PLD has not performed as we expected from him, but give him the chance to play a full season with decent players. He has 10 points in his last 15 games, and I hope he will step up in the Playoffs.
Let him play a full season wil Arvy/Fiala and another decent winger, which Kaliyev unfortunately won't be with the Kings. Save the money from Kaliyev and get another decent winger like Monahan and the third line for the Kings will be a huge threat. I also hope Arvy's news deal will not be as much, Im wondering if any other team would offer something comparable with his injury history. It' also time, as you showed, to move on from Matt Roy and play with Clarke and Spence next year.
