Apart from the fact that a trade can quite easily be made to open said space and, until further notice, Lehner is LTIR eligible which opens up sufficient space.

I just looked at their roster, without signing anyone, and they have 10F, 7D, and 2Gs, along with Lehner on LTIR and they have over $7.5m to sign guys with. Just needing a couple wings (Doro being one, who would easily fall under the cap) I'm not sure they are in that great deal of trouble. What are you seeing with their cap?

The need to sign Marchessault alone erases the space gained from placing Lehner on LTIR next season.

And if trades can easily be made, then they wouldn't be trashed so many times in AGM.
