Just to add. The following season. Sabres have five RFAs to sign and only one expiring UFA contract 3m Greenwood., Looks like an vengeful offer sheet or two waiting to happen.

Really only 3, as RJ will be only what like 1.5M? JJP, Quinn, or Byram could make it tough, but if they all take some sort of bridge (Byram being tough) and buyout Skinner (saves 5 mil the first year, 3 mil the following) it could be done, if the cap goes up further. Retaliation generally comes from the team that the OS happened to if any, and Fla will be up against the cap themselves. Math it could work, but not worth it. Fla may be motivated to move him anyways to resign Sam and all the other pieces, or maybe not.
