Canes make it to the SCF

Same style of trade when TOR sent Kessel to the Pens.

Smith goes back to VGK at $1.25 mil.

Double retention with another team for the Pens' 4th and a late pick from VGK.

Cond. 3RD - Becomes a 2025 2nd-round pick if Utah makes it to the SFC in the 24-25 season.

Cond. 6th (2025) - Utah regains its 2025 pick if they make the playoffs in 2024.

While Dubas did say that he expects Graves to have a better season next year, he did also say that Petry was to be a big part of the Pens moving forward (and then dealt him a few weeks later)

I don't think that Graves is a bad player, but he isn't a fit on the Pens' roster, especially since it seems that Sullivan will be staying on as HC. (Although, one could hope that Graves pulls a Martin and becomes a steady presence on the back end with a new AC managing the D-Core)

CBJ decides to trade Laine to another team at the draft / the start of FA and gets a natural C in return.

MTL gets a solid PKer

Same idea as the Smith trade from last year and trying to get a player from a team who is a bit higher to the Cap and will need to re-sign some players.

Cond. 3rd - The pick becomes a 2026 second-rounder should the Pens make the 2024 and 2025 Playoffs
