You're right. Why would Arizona though.? No long term, even much short term upside for Coyotes.

If your Arizona, You have to make it. This team sucks and needs to start getting good fast. You have the money to sign him, you lost virtually nothing fro your min roster, you add a superstar player to your team which may get people in the seats.

Yeah that's a lot to pay but you know what? It may just be a catalyst for Arizona actually staying in Arizona.

This is the kind of trade that would save Dorion's ass. At the same time Arizona would take a massive risk but OEL-Karlsson would be just a lethal pairing.
