Why would a contending team trade away their #2C when they don't have anyone to replace his production?

Artuma, get used to it. Seems like so many folks, think trading good players who are upcoming on a contending teams HAVE to traded. Now wouldn't Calgary have to trade him cause he's a UFA? And infinitum.

No sense is trading Stastny unless Blues are NOT making playoffs. And if they were to trade him they would want to replace their 1st round pick they traded away for Schenn IMO.

The Blues did it with Shattenkirk last year, Doug Armstrong doesn't like to lose pieces for no return, even if it means a lesser shot at the cup.
