I don't see any reason for the Rangers to do the goaltending part of this. They don't need Lehner as long as Lundqvist is playing well, and Shestrikin fits the timeline for Hank declining and possibly retiring much better than Robin does.

McCabe has been very disappointing this year. I don't think I'd permanently scratch him, but maybe some time in the press box could help him out.

This exactly. Also, Kane doesn't fill the biggest offensive need that NYR has, which is center. NYR may consider ROR, but I doubt they would look at Kane right now.
