No chance BM does it and "good!" because such a deal would be stupid. We're not even in a playoff spot and you want to dump a tonne of picks in a good draft + a couple decent prospects for Patches. Don't get me wrong, Patches is a good piece to add to any team, but the timing of this deal makes no sense and you're giving away too many really nice pieces. I know everyone wants to dump Ritchie before he's an official bust, but it's too late for that. You're not going to get value on Ritchie. He's quite clearly struggling at the NHL level and, until that changes, he's going to have the value of a player that is a high risk of being a bust. He's basically a throw-in on this deal. Larsson is a great piece, but totally unproven at the NHL level. I think the deal is fair for MTL, but I wouldn't commit so much of our future just to acquire Patches, especially when we're not even in a playoff spot and our 1st is currently a lottery pick. Making such high risk trades is exactly how LA destroyed their prospect pool.



Not a chance we move Steel. He's got some things that need to be worked on, but they're small things i.e. that initial step and gaining some muscle. He's the only real chance we have at replacing Getzlaf in the future. I'm hoping he explodes onto the scene in 2020-21 season in Barzal-esq fashion, but we'll see.
