Description
The Flames' biggest weakness right now is consistent scoring from the 2nd and 3rd lines. By adding Tatar to play with Tkachuk and Backlund, they get a better finisher to help those two put more pucks in the net.

By dropping Frolik to the 3rd line, Bennett and Jankowski get a talented play-driver who can free them up a bit offensively through his defensive prowess.

The Flames don't have many early picks this year or next, so I used 3 B-level prospects instead (2 for Tatar, 1 to get Detroit to retain $1M/yr).

Flames are caught in a big pickle with 2 crap contracts in Frolik and Brower on the books. You gotta figure out a way to fleece those contracts else where to make them a true contender

Brouwer's contract is awful, but I actually don't mind Frolik's. Frolik is a really strong play driver, good defensively, and typically chips in about 40 points a season with minimal powerplay time.

I do think they need to buy out Brouwer this summer if they can't find someone to take him off their hands though.

The other bad contract IMO is Matt Stajan, but it's up at the end of this year, and they can afford him in the fold the rest of the way.

Frolik does some boneheaded mistakes that makes me think if hes really worth it. But looking at yes term, its manageable for now. Brouwer tho has to go. I dont know where you can fleece him off too... maybe a ARI, or BUF but buying him out would suck and eat quite a bit of cap. As for Stajan, he's fine. He comes off the books this year, and will probably be signed to a 3 year 2.5 mill per extension I think. Not bad as your 4th line cnetre man. It was a great trade man

I disagree I don't think Frolik was a bad signing at all.

I also like the move to get Tatar

Boneheaded mistakes? What are you talking about? He had that one mistake against Vegas but other than that he's probably our most reliable forward defensively aside from Backlund. Frolik is 100% worth the money he makes and is part of one of the most dominant lines possession wise in the league.
